Lift up your Boobs in 5 easy ways

Lift up your Boobs in 5 easy ways

Breasts say you are a woman, like nothing else does! It’s every girl’s and every woman’s primal desire to have sexy, perky boobs. But, our lifestyle habits and age can easily take a toll on our breasts. As breasts are primarily just tissue and muscles, they need all the ‘support’ and TLC you can give them. Surgery isn’t the only thing that can give you perky breasts. Here are some simple ways that will help you have ‘perkier’ breasts.

Correct posture

We can’t emphasise enough the importance of correct posture – shoulders back, chest out, abdomen in, chin parallel to the floor. When you maintain an upright posture, your breathing is more effective, your spinal alignment stays intact, and…your breasts stand out in their full glory! You can easily make them appear fuller and perkier, by simply adopting a good posture.

Weight lift for breast lift

Short of a surgery, a one of the best ways to lift your breasts is by doing pectoral exercises. Strengthening your under-breast muscle will kind of pump up your breasts to make them appear fuller and perkier naturally. All you will need for these boobercises is a pair of dumbbells. If you have never lifted weights before, please make sure to start lighter, say 1kg each, and gradually move to heavier ones. Remember to never over do things. Here are a few easy lift exercises you could try:

PushUp: Start on all fours, your palms slightly wider than your shoulders, feet close together. Your body should form a straight line from head to toe.  Lower down until your chest almost touches the floor. Keep your upper arms at a 45-degree angle to your torso. Pause, then push back to the starting position. Do 10 push-ups and rest 90 seconds before moving on to the next exercise.

Dumbbell Press: Lie face up on a flat, firm surface, with your arms straight in front of you, a dumbbell in each hand. Lower the dumbbells until they’re close to the sides of your chest, then press them back up to the starting position. That’s one rep. Do 10 reps, then go to move 2 without rest.

Dumbbell Fly: Lie face up on a flat, firm surface, with your feet flat on the floor. Hold a pair of dumbbells above your shoulders with your elbows slightly bent. Keeping the slight bend in your elbows, lower the weights until your elbows are even with your chest.  Keep the same bend in your elbows as you press the weights back up. Perform 10 reps. Rest 90 seconds.

Yoga

Yoga is not just a weight loss tool. It is in fact a wholesome health and wellness system. There are many Yoga poses which you can try to firm up your breasts naturally. An improvement in your overall fitness and body shape can be a welcome side effect of these easy poses. Start with Surya Namaskar, a full body workout to tone and energise yourself. Once you get into a daily routine of practicing this set of asanas for a week, you can move on to adding targeted poses for your breasts.

Four most beneficial poses for your breasts are Bhujangasana (cobra pose), Vrikshasana (tree pose),

Dhanurasana (bow pose) and Virabhadrasana (warrior pose). Another exercise which you are familiar with and is all the rage currently, is a Plank pose. Planking will strengthen your core, tone your upper arms and firm up the pectoral muscles.

Lift-up bra

There are many lifting bras you can chose from, like Wonderbra, that can give you a fuller, perkier appearance under clothing. But the only way to enhance the look of your breasts, would be to do pectoral exercises. Although this won’t change the breasts themselves, these exercises can help develop the muscle underneath, which might make them look ‘perkier.'”

Collagen rich food

Often when breasts sag, the skin around them starts to appear papery and wrinkly, making them look much older. By consuming collagen rich foods, you can not only improve the skin, but you can improve the tone of the breasts themselves! Collagen combines the amino acids, which are the building blocks of all our muscles. Collagen foods are also rich in vitamin C, which further enhances the process of the essential nutrient absorption in our bodies. It’s best to get your collagen from food sources, like fish, tomatoes, red bell peppers, berries, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, etc.

You can also try applying collagen rich creams topically, directly onto your breasts, to further improve their appearance. Please try to use only natural products, which use ethically sourced ingredients, for better results.

You can fight against gravity with the above hacks. But remember, if you’re looking for something longer lasting, you’ll have to consider changing your diet, exercise routine, and maybe even consider surgery.

Let NowMe help find the right implant size for you

We know that breast size affects many aspects of a woman’s life, including her relationships, social interactions and overall physical well-being. So, it’s not a surprise that more than 1.8 million women chose to undergo breast augmentation in 2018.

Breast augmentation is a lifetime commitment and the results are generally permanent. It is therefore essential that you are making the appropriate choice and understand all the implications of the surgery. One of the key aspect, if not the most important, of the surgery is choosing the right size and the process of doing so can be quite overwhelming!

As you know, bra cups are typically sized in A, B, C and up, but implants are measured in cubic centimeters — cc for short. This is because the implant size is a three-dimensional measurement – length, width and volume (protrusion from the chest). For approximately every 150 ccs, the breasts will usually increase about one cup size. That can vary a bit depending on your specific measurements and even the bra manufacturer, but it gives you an idea!

The question of implant size is not straightforward. So, read along and you will hopefully have the tools by the end that will help you make an informed decision:

Height and weight
Your physical build is extremely important in choosing the size of implant. If you have a small frame and a slight build, opting for large size implants can not only look unnatural, it might potentially lead to problems such as back pain and ‘bottoming out’ (implants losing internal support due to week muscles). On the other hand, if you are quite tall and broad, smaller implants will not serve the purpose of achieving bigger, more attractive breasts.

Chest width
The overall width of your chest, or, in case of correcting asymmetrical breasts, the width of your breast, from cleavage to side, helps to determine the size of your implants. Ideally, the implants should be no larger than the chest diameter available. If you choose implants that are too narrow, your breasts might look deflated!

Breast tissue
Your existing breast tissue must be strong enough to support the implant. When the implant achieves cohesiveness with the natural tissue, the results are more long lasting and it can also help prevent rotation or movement of implants. Selecting an implant that’s too big not only looks unnatural but can also potentially cause tissue damage and stretch out the skin.

Lifestyle Factors
Your lifestyle is an equally important factor to consider. For active women, athletes, or women with more physically demanding jobs, larger breast implants may not be ideal. It’s simple: the larger the breasts, the more tiresome and potentially painful it will be to carry the extra weight while working, running, lifting weights or playing a sport. It’s also important to think about what kinds of clothing you normally like to wear, and if those items will be compatible with larger breast implant sizes.

On a different note, we are all creatures of Nature. So, it may be worth taking some inspiration from the Nature. And nowhere better that Nature’s favourite ratio, the Phi, or the Divine Golden Ratio (1:1.618). Leonardo Da Vinci famously used this ratio in his drawing of the Vetruvian Man, measuring distances between different parts of the body to show what a perfect human body looks like. The Phi ratio is believed to be registered in the primordial human limbic system as the value of beauty, harmony, and balance of proportions. The three-dimensional anatomy of beautifully shaped breasts – front, lateral and vertical views, can be analysed geometrically based on the Phi ratio to reduce subjectivity in the implant size selection and produce more homogeneous results.

However, the final results of a Breast Augmentation surgery should not be determined as a function of volume but as a function of shape as well. A 2014 study conducted by a top London plastic surgeon revealed a scientifically ideal proportion to measure the attractiveness of breasts. According to this study, Scarlett Johansson has the perfect breasts. This statement was backed by a public poll in which 87% of people voted in favour. So, what are these ideal proportions, you must be wondering! Let me put you out of your misery! The ideal proportions are 45 per cent of the breast above the line of the nipples (nipple meridian) and a generous 55 per cent below. This means the nipples should point upward at an angle of 20 degrees, creating alluring, attractive breasts.

Now that you have the tools to determine the right size for your Breast implants, it’s important to discuss these with your surgeon during your consultation. It’s always good to bring along a friend or a loved one to your consultation to get a different perspective on your implant decision. But remember, it’s your body, so it’s ultimately your decision.

During your initial consultation, your surgeon will discuss your surgery goals and take accurate measurements to identify the ideal volume, diameter and projection for your desired breast profile. While some surgeons would help you in the process by placing progressively larger rice bags or even implants in your future bra, others may use 3D imaging techniques. You may even be able to take home some external implants, which are basically gel filled bags that you insert in your future bra (the desired bra size you wish to achieve post-surgery). Try them on for a few days, indulging in your routine activities including your usual exercises, and get a feel for the potential size. You can also discuss with your family or friends how well that size suits you.

Before you go, I want to talk about a very critical but often overlooked consideration in Breast Augmentation surgery – your usual weight and your propensity to lose or gain weight. As with all surgeries, a stable weight for your body shape is critical to achieving your desired results and healing post-surgery. Maintaining your ideal weight through healthy eating and moderate exercise can benefit. But if you have the tendency to shift weight frequently – whether gaining or losing, you need to discuss this with your chosen surgeon before you book your surgery.

While size is a critical consideration in choosing the right implants for you, there are other aspects such as the shape and position. We will talk about these in our blogs to follow. Keep your eyes peeled!

Useful tips on taking good care of your breasts

Useful tips on taking good care of your breasts

From being a symbol of feminism, to giving life sustaining milk to their babies, breasts play many roles in a woman’s life. Whilst some women are completely comfortable with their breasts’ appearance and feel, many are often dissatisfied! Some don’t like their size, some are unhappy with their shape. As they start ageing, women are often concerned with the sagging of breast tissue. Regardless of their age or size, all women want healthy breasts for life.

As with the rest of the body, breasts need regular care to maintain their firmness, suppleness and volume. Our simple, easy to follow guide will help you take care of your breasts all year round:

  1. Clean, exfoliate and moisturise

Breast skin is quite thin and can easily become dry  if you don’t apply the right protection. It can imperative to clean your breast with any mild natural soap, particularly under the breasts. Weekly exfoliation can help get rid of any dead skin and open the pores. Use a good quality natural moisturiser or a blend of natural oils like castor oil and olive oil, to keep the skin soft and supple. This will also remove any impurities and prevent blemishes.

2. Massage

Massaging  your breasts will increase blood circulation and help maintain firmness and volume. It can also help you detect any unusual signs and identify any lumps or swelling that could be a risk of breast cancer. Massage your breasts in gentle circular motions with high quality and collagen rich oils to derive maximum benefits.

3. Use sunscreen

The skin in this area is very sensitive which is why you should apply sunscreen on your chest to control sun exposure and prevent sunburn. Too much sun exposure can sometimes lead to cancer. Frequent sun exposure wrinkle your skin and cause your breasts to lose firmness.

4. Regularly self examine

Self examination can help you determine if there is anything unusual within your breasts. Some changes or symptoms to look out for could be a change in your skin, like puckering or dimpling. If you discover a lump or a bump in your breast please consult your GP at the earliest. They are often benign but it’s best to get them examined to rule out any onset of cancer. Some women can feel slight pain or tenderness in their breasts just before their periods and it’s quite normal, But do see a doctor if you notice any nipple discharge or bleeding or a rash or if you have any pain that is long-lasting,

5. Maintain healthy diet and exercise

Eating  a healthy diet, containing lots of greens and foods rich in Vitamin C, iron and collagen, will provide the required nutrients for maintaining your breast health.  Regular moderate  exercise and yoga not only benefits your overall health but can also help you maintain the shape, size and firmness of your breasts. Eating a lot of fruits and vegetables  has been known to lower risk of getting breast tumours.  Regular exercise had also been proven to reduce the overall risk of breast cancer.

6. Use right bra

If you use a bra that doesn’t support your breasts  this can affect the ligaments in your breast and can cause them to sag and overstretch. To prevent this you can consult professional bra filters to find the right bra size. Anytime you notice that your bra is not fully covering  your breasts, or is digging or causing them to bulge, revisit your bra filters, as breasts can sometimes change shape or size over time. A good bra will also help you maintain good posture.

7. Good Posture

When ours shoulders are pulled back and spine straight, our breasts are well supported.  A good bra can provide additional support. Slouching may cause your breasts to sag prematurely.  If you do tend to slouch, there are some very effective exercises and yoga poses to remedy that – push ups and wing flap are some of the popular ones, which don’t even require any equipment.

8. Keep your weight checked

If you gain or lose a significant amount of weight this will affect your breasts and make them change shape and size. Overtime they may become saggy and unattractive, even painful. The tissue in your breast may stretch and may not always go back into shape. Aim to maintain a healthy weight and BMI. If you do need to lose weight, avoid any drastic exercises as they may lead to loss in breast volume.

9. Look out for changes in the skin texture

Breast cancer can cause changes in the skin texture of your breast, such as scaly or dry skin around the nipple and aerola. The skin may also  feel thicker in some parts of your breast. Consult a doctor for advice or test to help identify if this change is normal and benign or a precursor to something more serious.

10. No smoking

Smoking can affect your overall health, including breasts, Smoking  can harm your skin and can cause the skin around your breasts and inner arms to loosen. It can cause many complications, and is one of the leading causes of multiple cancers.  Smoking can make it difficult for you to heal after any type of surgery, such as breast reconstruction surgery.

So there it is. Make these 10 healthy habits part of your life, and your breasts will thanks you by staying healthy and perky!
